A quiet thought

I don’t have a thought for today’s blog.

That doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about things, but I don’t have a witty remark or topic for today.  Is there anything that you, dear readers, would like to know?????  I’ve told you all about my driving problems, and issues with food, you know about Jeremy and Phillip.  Give me some topics to blog about, or you will have to read more idiotic posts about how my desk is messy, I have a weight problem, and school is dumb!!!  Seriously people, I need help!!!

The March Break

Ahhhh a week off work……..  all the time in the world……….rest..relax….get stuff done………….

I don’t go away at March break mostly ’cause I don’t have the money.  but also the hassle of driving or the airport hardly seems like a rest.  But, like the summer, it seems I have limitless time and energy to do things……but that will come crashing down when I realize there is a Hell’s Kitchen marathon on the food network and spend an entire day eating chips and watching a show I’ve already seen!!!!!!!!!

Each day I’m trying to do SOMETHING– a job that needs to be done.  I have the family over for Easter dinner, and it needs to be clean (so I can be proud of my crappy little house), but we don’t have a lot of room–so every place is going to be needed for entertaining.

So far, we set up a new bed in Jeremy’s room (a queen).  We moved the double/twin bunk upstairs into the “Guest” room.  Now if you stay over, you can make a “cave” or a “tent” to sleep in just like Jeremy used to every night.  (Me- Jeremy, why do you have to make a tent to sleep in? J- because its too bright out! Me- Jeremy, you live in the BASEMENT!!!)

Today is Laundry Mountain (seriously people, you could have the Olympics here!!!!) and putting up new smoke detectors upstairs and downstairs.  The Accura is filled in the trunk with crap we are taking to the Goodwill.  (My dream is to get rid of 1/3 of the crap in the house– I know this will never happen unless someone else throws the crap away when I am not looking– I like that plate, stuffed animal, nail polish etc)  I have good intentions, but very little follow through.  (See my blogs about diet and excercise).

Tomorrow I will be cleaning Nan’s while Phillip takes her to the hospital. I also want to reorganize the downstairs kitchen, wash the walls upstairs, get photos ready for my art display in May, put photos in the albums, clean out the closet in the guest room, plan the seating for Easter, and eat chips while laying on the couch!!!  Lots to do!!!!

A beautiful Day

Its supposed to be a wonderful day and a great weekend.  I can’t decide what to do with myself!!!  I want to go outside!  We have a 10K walk coming up (not that its a marathon–but anything that will get us moving!) to raise money for MS research, and we need to “train”.  If my godsons can do the walk without crying, I sure want to!

We also have friends over for dinner tonight.  So I need to find enough tableroom for everybody.  Its so nice to be busy with friends and plans and a wonderful day ahead!!!!

Gotta run….blog later!!!!!

Hello…..Hello…..

I haven’t been blogging……

As a reader of this blog, you know this…

I can’t explain why not…its not the time…. its not other work to do…(although I do have tons of things to do, still)

I just haven’t felt like me……weird…. then who have I been????

I’m going to write some more–even if its just to hear my own voice.  I read back through my old blogs, laughing and crying, and I think I lost touch with who I am.

I become the things that need to get done, rather than a person doing those things.  And I need to reclaim myself.

Is it because the temperature is above freezing? and the sun is out?  Maybe I hibernated….. but I can’t ever let 6 months go without being ME!!!!!

Updates: School is good–new friends on staff (well old friends, new to this staff–things are working out great), still not working out–getting fatter by the day, Wearing more dresses to school (new staff/friends are fashionistas–feel the need to keep up), Jeremy and Phillip are good.  (And still causing me laughter and grief to be explored in subsequent blogs)

Its good to be back!!!!

Back to the Blog

I haven’t felt like writing a lot lately.  I don’t know if it is because of my Grandmother’s death bumming me out, or the change of seasons, or the mess in my class and house, but I just feel BLAHHHHH.

Well, nothing changes a grumpy mood like doing something about it!!!!  I am going to be back to blogging, here on my personal blog, and on my school website.  If you would like to see what my class is doing  check out www.teacherweb.com

Once you get there, click– find a teacher, scroll down to Ontario, Canada, then pick a school, we are Brother Andre (the first of the two listed), and last pick ME, from the list of teachers that have set up sites.  Its a lot of fun, and the parents who are checking the homework lists and the calendar really like it.  I have also added a “Student Blog” section.  Every couple of days, a student gets to sit at my desk and write what is happening in school.  It gets posted to the website and parents and friends can read it.

Hopefully turning around and facing my crappy mood will help me beat it!!!  If you are reading it, send me a shout out and say hi.  I could really use it!

My summer, so far

Two weeks without a post–I know I am sorry.  I have already been put in my place by my #1 Fan. So to her, and to you all–I apologize.

What have I been doing???  I will tell you some highlights.  I have gone to a BlueJays game,  Note that this is #19 –the Shortstop–MarcoScutaro  :)   Jeremy went to driving school and I helped Megan buy a new camera before her 3 week trip to Ireland.   On Canada Day we went to mom and dad’s–’cause its what we do.  Phillip and I took Nan to the hospital.  Phillip files his EI claim, we went to the Beaches for a day and had pie in this cut little cafe, cute until we realized that all the pies have a layer of almonds (phillip is allergic), but all was well.  We did gardening outside. Since EQAO marking was out by the airport, I stayed with mom and dad for almost a week.  Meals were cooked for me and we watched “SPACE”.  My aunt was featured in the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, so we went to Nathan Phillips Square to see her.  We wanted to steal two tiny Shi-tzu puppies in the stor, but we didn’t.  The next nan visit I was at, was the fastest EVER!!  Our lawn mower broke and the only place that will fix black and decker is in Toronto,  at this tiny, little repair shop like you’d see in the movies or in a Stephen King novel–so cool.  We visited the CN Tower with my cousin Gabe and his girlfriend Katie–both visiting from Florida.  I love my cousin of course, but Katie was great–and we share common interests like photographing  graffiti, and checking out the fixtures in all bathrooms.   Phillip and I spend hours talking to a NEW DISNEY CONVERT, a former co-worker who will be a current co-worker soon, just came back from a disney trip with her daughter and LOVED it.  She said to me “I get it, I know why you go back”.  Woo hoo, got another one.

That is all the photos to share (although there are more), and there have been many wonderful things not mentioned–dinners at the Tin Mill, and the Keg, visits with friends from St James, from high school, watching movies outside with best friends, baseball games in the park (just watching, not playing).  Visiting friends, adn seeing where they will be getting married (and where I am taking photos)

Now I have to get ready for a busy few days before our trip to Florida.  I promise to share more with you.

2 weeks without Jeremy

P1280702Today Jeremy leaves for 2 weeks.  He’s not joining the army or going to the moon.  He’s staying with family south of Picton.  I think this will be really, really good for him.  He’s never had a part time job so the only person that ever “nags” him is me (and his father and grandmother), but still they are the people you live with.  We ALL treat the people we live with differently than people we visit or people we work for.  (Sometimes better sometimes worse, but always different).  He will be working hard, but spoiled by other people, it will be good.  (And he’s been all “teenager-y” lately so we could use a break from him, too)

But the most important impact will be on MY life.  (since its my blog–I can make it all about me)

Seriously, I have only been away from him for more than 2 days, when  he was 10 months old.  Never as long as he can remember have Jeremy or I ever stayed anywhere more than 2 nights without the other one.  (Now I’m not thinking he’s as mushy about that as I am).  No matter how (freakishly) big your baby gets, he is still your baby.

However, I am going to miss alot of tasks Jeremy does around the house.  When I am thirsty I just yell out “Oh drink fairy where are you???” and like a vision from heaven, drinks show up to me.  Blankets get wrapped around me on the couch, spiders caught and released outside (that is not my instruction-I say kill the thing), but dishes, dog walking and recycling all seem to get done with only a minimum effort on my part.  Most important, when I want to wandolier, I just call out “Jeremy, make the Wii go!!!! and the stuff all gets hooked up and turned on.  I will miss him.

Seriously, again.  He will have a wonderful time and grow up quite a bit, even in just two weeks.  I’m glad he’s not going to epcot or university yet.  I don’t think I’m ready!!!

Things I love that start with B

another teacher today was making a list of things she loves that start with B.  Hmmm sounds like a great blog!

  • blogs-  I love to write mine.
  • bubbles– in baths, blowing bubbles outside, bubbles in pop, MY BUBBLES
  • biting– I BITE faces!!!!!
  • beach!!!  I love the beach–the sound of the water, the smell of the sea air–oh Gulf of Mexico, I will be there soon!
  • banana bread–yum yum
  • burgers–with a lot of cheese
  • bracelets–especially sparkly ones
  • bling–again, anything with sparkles
  • blankies– I love being snuggled in blankies
  • bears– polar and teddy especially
  • baked goods–they are my favourite treats, over chocolate or candy
  • Bones–What a great show– the entire cast is wonderful  (and Angel’s on it but not being broody)
  • black and white animals are all my fav’s–pandas, penguins, cows, skunks, zebras, if its black and white– I like it!
  • babies.  Oh so cute.  I like tosniff them (’cause babies smell good),  take their clothes off and look at their little feet.
  • boys– ’nuff said.
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer– The show, not the movie
  • bags–like funky purses.  I always carry a 35 pound bag with everything you could possibly need plus 17 pounds of stuff you don’t need.
  • braids–I like when girls have french braids in their hair.  I don’ know how to french braid :(
  • back bacon (only I call it ALLIGATOR BACON- don’t ask me why)
  • balconies– overlooking the water
  • the B game (When you annoy your husband/partner/lover with touching and announcing all the parts of them that start with B–do it when good TV is on for maximum effect!!!  Touch their: brow, boobies, belly, backs of their knees, bottoms of their feet, bum,  etc)
  • bakeries–yum
  • Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney movie.  (and my copy is broken)

  • ballerinas
  • bedtime!!!  (even though bedtime is for babies)
  • BASEBALL– Marco Scutero
  • bridges
  • and THE B BOOK–I don’t think its Dr. Seuss, but its in that set.  Big, brown bear, blue blue, beautiful baboon, blowing bubbles biking backwards, bump black bugs banana boxes, and brother bob’s baseball bus and buster beagles banjo, bagpipe, bugle band……and that’s what broke baby bird’s balloon.   (that’s from memory at my desk–someone find the book and check–I’m sure I’m close)

And those are some things I like that start with b!!!  (I will do things I hate that start with b later– barfing, blisters and botulism  will begin the list….)

As it has been pointed out to me, I have missed BROWNIES (which did get covered by Baked goods, but V is right, they are so yummy that they deserve their own mention)

And BRITTANY BEATON!!! (and the rest of the Beaton Clan).  Yes I love them, too.

I promise to post!!!

I really like writing my blog.  Sometimes I don’t think I have anything to write about.  I don’t only want to post about my weird habits and freakish actions.  But its very grounding to put thoughts in text (’cause its only on paper if you print it out).

I have heard from a few people that they REALLY like to read my blog.  I am so flattered and I love to hear your comments, and see my stats.  Thank you to the little bird that reminded me I haven’t posted for a while.

And so, dear readers, I promise to give you those much anticipated glimpses into my deranged, scattered, occasionally profound mind as frequently as possible!!!
